Philip Michael Thies

Filed under: Doing now — pthies @ 12:24 am

Philip was born at 0131 on 18 Oct.  He was 22 inches long, weighed 9.2 lbs, and head of 37 cm.  It was a bit of a hard delivery for Gillian.  She pushed untill she could not do any more, then the doctor used suction and then forcepts and finally the little guy entered the world.  His head was pretty beat up, but he should be good in 1-2 days.  Gillian and Philip will be in the hospital 1-3 days, we dont know for sure when they are coming out.

Overall both of them are doing well.

I was up all night so tough luck on pictures right now.  I will be putting several on tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your prayers.

  5. I’m so glad Hector is finally here! Me, Mike and Rick say a giant congratulations! Mike, of course, is thrilled that you’ve named the child after him. Frankly, he was quite the bother to be around today at work after I told him….

Give Gillian a big hug and kiss from me (not Mike and Rick. They platonically shake her hand in an appropriate friendly business-like way.)

I can’t wait till you guys get home!

  12. Pat, Well you have had an exciting few weeks: Afghanstan, travel twice across the US, birth of a son, purchased a new car. I want to know either what you have planned for the next few weeks to keep up the pace OR how you are going to handle the slow down? Perhaps with three kids there will not be a slow down, but it is worth asking. Always an interested spectator, Dad.
