Lack of Sleep/Airport

Filed under: Doing now, Pictures — pthies @ 1:05 pm

Ok the new little man is killing me.  I am really getting short on sleep.  It was my turn to take care of him last night and I went to bed at 9:30 after finally getting Edward in bed.  Then I had to get up at 2 AM to change him and hand him to Gillian to feed.  Then over the next 30 minutes I had to keep giving him his pacifier before he finally went back to sleep.  Then AGAIN I had to get up at 6 Am to change his diaper, then he went to sleep again until about 8 Am when Gillian fed him again.  Man life is rough in the Thies household.

Gillian and I have decided that we want a couple of quiet days to get the family back in time and get all of us used to the fact that we are home.  Given this, we invite everyone who would like to, to meet us at the Portland airport.  It is flight NW595 from Miniapolis arriving at 703 PM.  We will spend plenty of time there for everyone to hold Philip, and see all of us.  Then once we get home we request no visitors.  My Mom is coming over to help us for the first few days to get adjusted, then starting over the weekend we will be inviting people over to spend some time with the whole family.

I will be doing an Afghan experience slide show sometime in the next 1-2 months as well.  I will keep everyone posted on that date when we have it figured out.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we get readjusted to home.

Note that I am back to using thumbnails agian.  The blog site now has it as an option again.

  1. They are so cute I can hardly stand it! I’m framing that photo of Benjamin and Edward. Classic.

I’m going to pass on the airport thing…you’ll have one less person holding you up to get home. I’ve patiently waited this long to see Hector, and I will wait a few more days! It’s not because I don’t miss and love you guys, but I imagine after all that travel you will want to get home to a shower, a bed, and heck, your HOUSE! I can wait a little longer :)

I am so relieved and grateful to God that all of this has worked out so well. You guys are on the last leg of this particular adventure and I can’t wait till you are in your home, rested, where you are supposed to be!

  2. THREE DAYS! Can you stand it? Will be praying for your trip. . . may it be quiet and comfortable, if at all possible!
    See you soon.
